The Volusia/Flagler County Coalition for the Homeless has partnered with the National Coalition for the Homeless and AmeriCorps*VISTA to host a local Faces of Homelessness Speakers’ Bureau. The Speakers’ Bureau is a group of homeless and formerly homeless individuals who share their stories to combat the stereotypes and misconceptions that surround homelessness.

The Speakers' Bureau for Volusia and Flagler counties was established in May 2009, and the current Coordinator is Sean Withall, an AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer. The Speakers’ Bureau introduces diverse audiences to new facts about homelessness, and to the stories of people who have experienced it. Speakers dispel misconceptions about homelessness and offer insightful commentary on of one of the most significant issues a community can face.
